Greeting Message of the CWI (SH)

on occasion of the 106th International Women’s day

Lenin

On the heroic proletarian women in the October revolution:

"In Petrograd and in Moscow, in cities and industrial centers, and in the countryside, proletarian women have greatly participated in the revolution, without which we would not have won. How brave they were, how courageous they were ! Yes, yes, our proletarian women are great class-fighters, they deserve admiration and love ..."

On the occasion of the 106th International Women's Day and the 6th Anniversary of the re-founding of the Communist Women's International, the CWI (SH) sends militant, world revolutionary greetings to all revolutionary women all over the world and to all those who support their struggle.

This special greeting message on occasion of the Centenary of the October Revolution is dedicated to

The heroines of the October Revolution

1917 - 2017

On the International Women 's Day the proletarian women all over the world raise their collective voice against their exploitation and oppression!
This particular 106th World Women 's Day is dedicated to the heroic proletarian women who participated in the October Revolution 100 years ago.

WITHOUT THE PROLETARIAN WOMEN

THE OCTOBER REVOLUTION WOULD NOT WIN!

WITHOUT US PROLETARIAN WOMEN

THE WORLD REVOLUTION CAN NOT WIN!

This is the message that the CWI (SH) addresses to all women in the world on 8 March 2017.

Before the October revolution women were nothing but miserable slaves. With the October revolution, women have freed themselves from slavery, and have borne their banner of liberation over the whole globe.

The heroism of women in the October revolution is a great honor and obligation for us women today to make our contribution to the preparation, execution and defense of the socialist world revolution.

Today the CWI (SH) marches under the banner of the liberation of women in the same way at the first front of the entire world proletariat - until the victory of the socialist world revolution.

The heroic women of the October revolution take a prominent place in the world history of the revolutionary women's movement.

The Russian Revolution was the first and greatest event in world history of the revolutionary liberation movement of women. Just as women have put the Marxist-Leninist doctrine into practice in 1917, today the women will also successfully apply the doctrine of Stalinism-Hoxhaism in the socialist world revolution.

It is the foundation of the Communist International which was the world-historical starting point of the revolutionary Communist Women 's World Movement:

"The Communist International can only fulfill its tasks, can only secure the final victory of the world proletariat and the abolition of the capitalist system through the closely related common struggle of women and men of the working class. The dictatorship of the proletariat can only be lively and active, can only be achieved and maintained by the participation of women of the working-class"
(decision of the Comintern at the founding congress - March 6, 1919).

Today, the common world-revolutionary organization of proletarian women of all countries is the
COMMUNIST WOMEN'S INTERNATIONAL (SH).

Revolutionary women all over the world - join the Communist Women's International (Stalinist-Hoxhaists) !

Exploited and oppressed women - rise up!

Long live the heroic women of the October Revolution !

Long live the 8th March - the International Women's Day!

Long live the proletarian internationalism of women!

Long live the world communist women's movement!

Long live the revolutionary struggle of women against hunger, war and fascism!

Greeting Message of the CWI (SH)

on occasion of the 105th International Women’s day

On the occasion of the 105th International Women's Day and the 5th Anniversary of the founding of the Communist Women's International, the CWI (SH) sends militant, world revolutionary greetings to all revolutionary women all over the world and to all those who support their struggle.

On the International Women 's Day the proletarian women all over the world raise their collective voice against their exploitation and oppression!
On this particular 105th World Women 's Day the proletarian women begin to organize their world-revolutionary global fight for the overthrow of world capitalism with the goal of world communism, and thus the final liberation of women. The International Woman’s Day is a means of winning the women’s labor reserves to the side of the world proletariat. The struggle for women’s emancipation directly involves a struggle against world capital itself.

The inevitability of oppression and exploitation of women can only be eliminated by means of the removal of the inevitability of capitalism - that is, by the dictatorship of the world proletariat and the establishment of world socialism. Only in the world communism the woman is free.

It is the foundation of the Communist International which was the world-historical starting point of the revolutionary Communist Women 's World Movement:

Greeting Message of the Comintern (SH)

on occasion of the 104th International Women’s day

On the occasion of the 104th International Women's Day and the 4th Anniversary of the founding of the Communist Women's International, the Comintern (SH) sends militant, world revolutionary greetings to all revolutionary women all over the world and to all those who support their struggle.

All violent treatments of women, their unspeakable exploitation and oppression are caused by capitalist-imperialist wage slavery system. Capitalist private property is ultimately the root of sexual slavery and slavery of classes.
Therefore, the liberation of women is closely linked to the abolition of private ownership of the means of production and their transformation into collective socialized property.

The ruling classes are unable to solve the issue of women, in particular, as they are also incapable of solving the social question, in general.
That’s why it was needed to found a proletarian women's movement which - contrary to the bourgeois and petty bourgeois women's movement - wants to eliminate the inevitability of exploitation and oppression of women, side by side with the exploited and oppressed men - through the overthrow of the bourgeoisie and the establishment of the rule of the proletariat.
The inevitability of oppression and exploitation of women can only be eliminated by means of the removal of the inevitability of capitalism - that is, by the dictatorship of the world proletariat and the establishment of world socialism. Only in the world communism the woman is free.
For the communist women's movement, the world socialist revolution is the only way to liberate all women around the world.
Without world-revolutionary class struggle of the proletariat, there is no liberation of women. And without the participation of women in the destruction of world capitalism, there is no world socialism and world communism.

Let’s recall the words from comrade Enver:

"The Party and the working class should measure the advance toward the complete construction of socialist society with the deepening and progress of the women's revolution within our proletarian revolution. If the women lag behind, then the revolution marks time."

Exploited and oppressed women - rise up!

It is impossible to eliminate sex-slavery without eliminating class slavery!

Statement of the Comintern (SH)

on occasion

of the 103rd International Women’s Day

March 8, 1911 – March 8, 2014

and of the

2nd anniversary of the foundation

of Women’s Communist International (SH)

March 8, 2012 – March 8, 2014

Today, we celebrate both the International Women’s Day and the second anniversary of the foundation of the Women's Communist International (SH).

More than 100 years ago, at the time when International Women’s Day started to be commemorated, women’s communist movement was still giving its first steps and the International Women’s Day was established as a date to pay tribute to those brave proletarian women who gave their lives fighting against repression and exploitation. Indeed, throughout history, women have endured harsh oppression in all aspects (political, economic, social, etc.) at the hands of slavagist, feudal and capitalist society. This situation is not even exclusive of working class women. Even aristocratic or bourgeois women have also to bear abuses and enslavement because of their gender. This is inevitable in a class society where means of production belong to the exploitative classes. As the first two Classics, comrades Marx and Engels said, within the family the man represents the bourgeoisie while the woman represents the proletariat.

However, struggle for women’s emancipation got a genuine character only within the ranks of proletarian women, as their relationship to the means of production allowed them to acquire a revolutionary consciousness and to become integrated in the class struggle more easily, just like happened with men of the same class. In this manner, while proletarian women became ultimately engaged in the communist feminine movement which struggles for their authentic liberation from all kinds of exploitations and oppressions, there was also the naissance of the bourgeois “feminist” movement whose purpose was to shut up women’s demands by giving them some fake “democratic rights” (to vote, etc.) while keeping them more and more subservient to capitalist and social-fascist slavery. Later, revisionists and neo-revisionists became the greatest supporters of such “feminism”.

For example, even nowadays bourgeois-revisionist “feminists” claim as one of their “greatest victories” the alleged “right of all women to freely work without permission from males”. But this “victory” of the bourgeois-revisionists “feminists” was in fact in total coincidence with capitalists’ desires for profit maximization and accumulation. As Clara Zetkin clearly stated:

What made woman labour particularly attractive to the capitalists was not only its lower price but also the greater submissiveness of women.”

This remains entirely valid nowadays, when wage enslaved women are still paid for equal work substantially less than wage enslaved men. And this is just one instance that displays the true character of bourgeois-revisionist “feminist movement” as the capitalist lackey it always is. In Bolshevist Soviet Union of comrades Lenin and Stalin and in socialist Albania of comrade Enver, feminine masses enjoyed from an extent of freedom as they never experienced neither before, neither after. Authentic, definitive and complete liberation of feminine oppressed and exploited masses cannot be accomplished within the frame of any class society, but solely in a stateless, classless, propertyless society – only in a communist society. But communism can only be achieved after destroying capitalist-imperialist system through violent armed proletarian revolution, after implementing the dictatorship of the proletariat and after successfully building socialism. And all this can only be safely ensured if they are attained at a global/world scale. After all, this is the only manner to avoid the inevitability of capitalist-revisionist-imperialist encirclement and restoration.

That is why we appeal to all exploited and oppressed women of the world to join the only organization that is capable of accomplishing such gigantic objectives: the Comintern (SH) - the world vanguard party of the global proletariat, the faithful standard bearer of the 5 Classics of Marxism-Leninism. We urge these women to embrace Marxism-Leninism-Stalinism-Hoxhaism, for it is the only path to their authentic emancipation. We urge these women to definitively break up with the misleading bourgeois-revisionist “feminists” who are at the service of world capitalists and with their phony “woman’s rights” whose aim is to keep women under bondage forever. As comrade Lenin, the 3rd Classic of Marxism-Leninism, once said:

You all know that even when women have full rights, they still remain fatally downtrodden because all housework is left to them. In most cases housework is the most unproductive, the most barbarous and the most arduous work a woman can do. It is exceptionally petty and does not include anything that would in any way promote the development of the woman.”

Only by joining the Comintern (SH), namely its Women’s Communist International (SH) - whose second anniversary we are also celebrating today - can the exploited feminine masses of the world be able to achieve this, only by doing it can they show global capitalist-imperialist bourgeoisie that, contrary to what may have once occurred, women are not “submissive lambs” anymore.

World exploited and oppressed women – unite!

Aggravating contradictions inherent to globalized capitalism-imperialism will only enslave you more and more!

Long live the International Women’s Day!

Join the Women’s Communist International (SH)!

Only Stalinism-Hoxhaism can lead you to your definitive and complete liberation!

Don’t be deceived by the lies of the pro-capitalist bourgeois-revisionist “feminism”!

March and struggle side by side with world exploited and oppressed men for world socialist revolution!

The world proletarian woman fights hand in hand with men of her class against global capitalist society!

Long live the 5 Classics of Marxism-Leninism: Marx, Engels, Lenin, Stalin and Enver Hoxha!

Long live world proletarian dictatorship!

Long live world socialism and world communism!

Long live the Comintern (SH)!

Clara Zetkin

July 5, 1857 - June 20, 1933

Message on occasion of the 80th anniversary of Clara Zetkin’s death day

June 20, 2013

Today, we celebrate the 80th anniversary of Clara Zetkin’s death day.

Zetkin was undoubtedly one of the greatest communist female leaders that ever lived. She understood that gender equality can never be fully achieved under a wage slavagist bourgeois-capitalist system where the lower position occupied by women in social production and domestic life create the material basis that determines women’s exploitation and oppression. Therefore, Zetkin defended that only socialism and communism are able to truly liberate women, who have been ruthlessly enslaved, exploited and oppressed for centuries. Zetkin dedicated herself to the task of spreading the ideas of socialism among feminine working masses and defended that solely the struggle for accomplishment of a socialist and communist society will allow that women are finally emancipated from unpaid domestic work and also that they can reach a complete revolutionary communist conscience that will ensure the improvement of women’s activities in all spheres of life.

Contrary to many bourgeois feminist movements that were already empoisoning the conscience of working women in favour of the maintenance of capitalism and wage slavery, Clara Zetkin recognized and firmly stressed that only Soviet Union was showing the correct path towards women total and definitive liberation from all kinds of oppression, exploitation and alienation. Zetkin concluded that in Soviet Union of comrades Lenin and Stalin, the state of proletarian dictatorship granted women a dignified existence with full employment and adequate ideological and working formation. Zetkin comprehended that in the Soviet Union of comrades Lenin and Stalin, women’s necessities were entirely fulfilled in all aspects related not only with working life, but also with private life and with motherhood. That’s why Zetkin always advocated that genuinely revolutionary women should unite with Bolshevist Soviet Union in order to obtain true freedom that can only be achieved in a propertyless, stateless and classless society.

However, in spite of her merits, the truth is that Clara Zetkin also suffered from some serious ideological weaknesses. These weaknesses were noticed by comrades Lenin and Stalin and were related with Zetkin’s refusal of the correct Marxist-Leninist-Stalinist thesis of social-fascism, which stresses that reformist “social-democracy” and Nazi-fascism are class twins, as they are both the inevitable product of bourgeois-capitalist exploitative order and that their inevitability can only be entirely prevented through an authentic proletarian dictatorship and socialist construction in accord with the teachings of the Classics without any kind of political-ideological concessions to bourgeois-capitalist forces, not even to those who pretend to be “anti-fascist”, because while capitalism is alive, nazi-fascist form of bourgeois dictatorship will always be unavoidable.

In spite of the decisive contribute that “social-democracy” gave to Nazi-fascist ascension and of other uncountable historical facts at the epoch that have proved the accuracy of this thesis beyond any doubts, Clara Zetkin rejected it and due to this incorrect rejection, Zetkin wrongly criticized the glorious KPD of Ernst Thalmann, which was successfully applying the theory of social-fascism to the struggle of German workers against Nazi-fascist form of bourgeois dictatorship and whose legacy is staunchly supported by the Comintern (SH). Indeed, the abandon of the Marxist-Leninist-Stalinist thesis on social-fascism was one of the main factors that opened the path to revisionist penetration and domination within world communist movement, namely since its denial by Dimitrov’s ultra-opportunist “united front theories”.

Anyway, we pay tribute to Zetkin’s positive contributions to the development and advance of communist feminine movement, which were recognized all over the world already during her lifetime and that are nowadays a source of valuable experiences to us, Stalinists-Hoxhaists, in our combat for world proletarian dictatorship, for world socialism and world communism.

Long live world communist feminine movement!

Long live women’s liberation through world socialist revolution!

Long live Marxism-Leninism-Stalinism-Hoxhaism!

Long live the Comintern (SH)!

30 Years

9th Congress of the AWUA (BGSH)

Union of Albanian Women was an important mass organization in socialist Albania. The union was headed by Vito Kapo. Its tasks mobilizing the political and social activities of the country's women, handling their ideological training, and leading the campaign for the emancipation of women. This campaign, initiated in 1966 by comrade Enver Hoxha, had considerable success in securing equal social and political rights for women. As part of the campaign, women from the cities were dispatched to rural regions to explain to the party's line on the role of women. By the late-1980s, women accounted for 47 percent of the labor force and about 30 percent of deputies to the People's Assembly. Women held responsible jobs at all levels of government and received equal pay in most jobs.

Message of the Comintern (SH)

- June 1, 2013 -

30 years ago, on 1-3 June, 1983, the 9th Congress of Albanian Women took place. This was a very important event to all those who struggle around the world for genuine oppressed women’s emancipation. Since the beginning, since the times of Liberation War in their country, Albanian Marxist-Leninists led a firm and resolute struggle to liberate women from centuries of implacable exploitation and oppression. They always understood that it is not possible to construct an authentically socialist and communist society without women’s complete and total emancipation in all aspects. Therefore, in less than 4 decades, oppressed Albanian women ceased from being abused and repressed beings helplessly subjected to exploitation and social/cultural reactionary prejudices and turned into active combatants for the cause of genuine Marxism-Leninism and for the revolutionarization of new Albania towards socialist and communist construction always under the steel leadership of comrade Enver’s Marxist-Leninist-Stalinist PLA – the vanguard of proletarian dictatorship in Albania.

Throughout capitalist and revisionist world, fake “feminist” bourgeois movements always pretended and still pretend to combat for women’s emancipation through convincing bourgeois and revisionist lawmakers to create some empty “laws” which are in fact serving the system of socio-economic productive relations of wage slavagist capitalist-imperialist-revisionist global order and that invariably and inevitably subjects oppressed women to the harshest exploitation. Salary discriminations, mistreatment in work and family life, abuses and harassment of all kinds are obstacles that oppressed women will always have to face while world communism is not definitively ensured. Only the implementation of proletarian dictatorship, of socialism and communism can totally emancipate oppressed women all over the world from all kinds of exploitation and repression through abolishing forever the cause and origin of those same exploitations and repressions: wage slavagist profit-driven capitalist-revisionist-imperialist system. Capitalists, revisionists, imperialists and social-imperialists always used oppressed women as a source of slave labour so desperately miserable and oppressed that it is eager to work almost for free. And this situation is getting worse and worse as world capitalist-imperialist oligarchy is exploiting oppressed women more and more in order to get maximum profits. Contrary to what many bourgeois “feminists” affirm, struggle for emancipation of oppressed women is not incompatible with struggle for oppressed men’s emancipation. Quite the opposite, oppressed men’s total and definitive emancipation will never be complete without oppressed women’s total and definitive emancipation and vice-versa. Oppressed women of the world must unite with oppressed men of the world against their common class enemies without never forgetting that there are also many women who are members of global dominant exploitative oligarchy and who are therefore oppressive elements that is necessary to annihilate if we want to achieve a stateless, propertyless and classless society in which both equal genders will finally enjoy an authentic freedom.

Long live comrade Enver’s socialist Albania revolutionary tradition in fierce Marxist-Leninist-Stalinist-Hoxhaist struggle for oppressed women’s liberation!

Long live the 5 Classics of Marxism-Leninism: Marx, Engels, Lenin, Stalin and Enver Hoxha!

Long live violent and armed world socialist revolution!

Long live world proletarian dictatorship, world socialism and world communism!

Long live the Comintern (SH)!

Greeting Message

of the Portuguese Section of the Comintern (SH)

Long live 102nd Women’s day!

Today, 8th March, 2013, the Portuguese Section of the Comintern (SH) likes to greet all other Sections and comrades on occasion of the 102nd women’s day.

The only manner through which proletarian and working women can accomplish their emancipation from all kinds of bourgeois-capitalist-imperialist oppression and exploitation is by participating and contributing to the world socialist revolution, to the establishment of world proletarian dictatorship towards world socialism and world communism. There is no other way.

The Portuguese Section of the Comintern (SH) bases its policies towards women in the declarations and documents of the CWI (SH). We condemn all attempts by bourgeois-capitalist organizations and “feminist” movements to divide and separate feminine proletariat from masculine proletariat or to divide “local” working women from “migrant” working women with the purpose of preventing the triumph of world socialism and world communism - because these goals can only be accomplished if proletarian/working men and women of all countries are united, are mutually supportive and enjoy from equal rights and duties always under the guidance of Marxist-Leninist-Stalinist-Hoxhaist ideology and of the Comintern (SH). Gloria Steinem, a representative of the pro-capitalist and pro-wage slavagist “feminist” movements once treacherously affirmed that “the movement to liberate women belongs to no one but to all those who care about human rights”. But this is false! World bourgeois-imperialists-capitalists (which created the so-called “feminist” movement) couldn’t care less about fake “human rights” – the only “human right” they recognize is their own plutocratic “right” to enslave and exploit both men and women in order to maximize profits.

The authentic movement to truly and definitively liberate proletarian / working women belongs exclusively to us, genuine communists, and to nobody else! Only by faithfully following and applying the invincible teachings of Marxism-Leninism-Stalinism-Hoxhaism can proletarian and working women be freed from exploitation, oppression, wage slavery and achieve total liberation in all aspects.

The Stalinist-Hoxhaist fight for women’s emancipation is inherently related to all other struggles of world proletarian communist movement to achieve the final annihilation of world capitalist-imperialist exploitative, repressive and wage slavagist order.

World proletarian / working women – unite!

Only through unwavering adherence to the teachings of the 5 Classics of Marxism-Leninism can world feminine proletariat achieve total and definitive liberation from all kinds of bourgeois-capitalist-imperialist exploitation and oppression!

Long live unity between proletarian men and women!

Death to the reactionary bourgeois-capitalist “feminist” movements whose only aim is to keep working women subjected to endless exploitation and oppression!

Long live the 5 Classics of Marxism-Leninism: Marx, Engels, Lenin, Stalin and Enver Hoxha!

Long live the Communist Women’s International (SH) – the only genuinely revolutionary organization that leads world feminine proletariat!

Long live the Comintern (SH)!

Greeting Message of the Comintern (SH)

On the occasion of the 102nd International Women's Day and the 2nd Anniversary of the founding of the Communist Women's International, the Comintern (SH) sends militant, world revolutionary greetings to all women in the world.

We salute all those who support the women's movement in its just struggle against the increased exploitation and oppression caused by the current crisis of world capitalism.

The horrific rape on 16 December 2012, in India, has given rise to mass protests not only in the own country but all over the world. This shows that the revolutionary liberation movement of women is growing on a global scale and gaining strength.

Neither the Indian ruling class, nor the world bourgeoisie are able to stop the violence against women. On the contrary, the rulers of the world conceal these atrocities, protect the perpetrators and let the victims in the lurch. It's not just the personal fate of an individual woman, but with her, millions of women around the world share the same fate.

It is capitalism itself that causes all violent treatments of women, their double exploitation and oppression.

The ruling classes are unable to solve the issue of women, in particular, as they are also incapable of solving the social question, in general.

Capitalist private property is ultimately the root of sexual slavery and slavery of classes.

Therefore, the liberation of women is closely linked to the abolition of private ownership of the means of production and their transformation into social property.

Governments and institutions promised reforms to appease the anger of women. There are fine words, but no actions follow, and the protest of women grew even more. There is also growing of fascism and reaction, which is especially aimed against the revolutionary women.

The bourgeoisie does not only split the proletarian class to maintain her system of exploitation and oppression, but also splits the women.

So two women's movements emerged in the world.

The bourgeois-/petty-bourgeois women's movement and the proletarian women's movement - the reformist-revisionist one and a revolutionary, communist one.

The bourgeois and petty bourgeois women's movement is limited to a maximum of demands to "eliminate" the extreme excesses of the oppression and exploitation of women (against stoning, mutilation, democratic rights etc.). However, all these women movements defend the current capitalist ssystem - more or less.
The proletarian women's movement are not against reforms. In the contrary. However the struggle for reforms is subordinated under the struggle for the revolution.
The proletarian women's movement is fundamentally different from the bourgeois and petty bourgeois women's movement - especially the fact that we want to eliminate the inevitability of exploitation and oppression of women, side by side with the exploited and oppressed men - through the overthrow of the bourgeoisie and the establishment of the rule of the proletariat .

On the occasion of Women's Day, we want to remember all the women who have lost their life in the fight for freedom and socialism. Their blood has not been shed in vain. The revolutionary women's movement will only leave the battlefield, even if the last woman has been liberated on this world - forever.

Women - rise up!

Sex-slavery - and class slavery!

Long live the victory of the Indian socialist revolution for the overthrow of the imperialist and fascist Indian state, for the establishment of the dictatorship of the proletariat !

Proletarian class struggle and fight for the liberation of women are inextricably linked in the struggle for the socialist world revolution.

December 2012 / January 2013

A state that does not protect but abuses women has no right to exist!

University, school students and working class youth are out in the streets of the national capital asking for justice from a political system and its ruling class that has secured its own selfish interest at the expense of the vast majority.

After 65 years of becoming an independent country that held the promise of a subject people being able to build a new society where the rights of all people would be respected, people are out on the streets demanding the most basic right for half the population – the right to dignity for women.

The response of the government following the horrific rape of a young woman and assault on her and her friend in a Delhi bus on December 16th reflects the utter callousness of the Indian ruling class towards the people. In the first instance, the incident did not provoke any official response. However, what the government did not anticipate was the level of public protests that this criminal act evoked from a wide section of the youth population. Within a day of the crime being reported, the capital was shaken by a storm of protests that spread to other cities across the country. In Delhi, the demonstrators assembled at India Gate, marched up Rajpath to Rashtrapati Bhavan and demonstrated in front of Sonia Gandhi’s house.

What was the response of the government then? They attacked the protestors, lathi charged them and sought to discourage them with water cannons and teargas. Its chief concerns were that the demonstrators should not march on to the Presidential complex or that the visiting Russian President should not hear about this terrible crime against two young people right here in the capital city! On the 5th day of the protests, lumpen hoodlums were deliberately sent in among the protestors to provoke the police and damage vehicles and resort to violence. This was just what the police were waiting for and they unleashed their full fury on many innocent demonstrators.

However, this has not quelled the spirit of the youth. They are determined to continue their protests till such time as they see that the government is really going to take some steps to secure the city for women. The people, especially the youth, are not willing to accept any placating by the Prime Minister, Delhi Chief Minister or the Home Minister. They are not willing to listen to promises which they know from their own experience are empty platitudes. They are clearly rejecting moves of any political party to hijack the agitation.

There is no dearth of laws in our country to punish those guilty of sexual offenses. But the reality is that very few criminals have been indicted or even tried. In Delhi as in other cities and towns across India, criminal gangs and lumpen elements freely roam around and terrorise people. They operate with impunity because they know that they will not be pulled up and punished by the law; the existing system needs such criminals to do the bidding of the rich and powerful – whether it is to secure votes for the political parties, evict people from their homes for the slum lords and land mafia, attack striking workers on behalf of the capitalists, or participate in communal genocides, etc.  Without the knowledge of the police and the protection of the politically powerful, these criminal hoodlums cannot exist.

Within this context, women are especially vulnerable to being targeted. Indian society has not experienced the social revolution that would have made a break with its medieval past. Women continue to be oppressed and humiliated by the backward social customs still prevailing in society, including the caste system and backward religious customs. Through colonial times when capitalism was developing and in contemporary times with further development of capitalism, the bourgeoisie found it suitable to preserve some of the medieval practices of caste and discrimination against women in order to better carry out the exploitation of all the people.

Under capitalism, patriarchy has continued to deny women their rightful place and they are among the most discriminated against in a vastly unequal society. They are repeatedly told that they have to “know their place.” They are abused and attacked for allegedly stepping out of line.  They do not have a say even in their own personal lives and they are blamed for all the crimes committed against them! At the same time, under the capitalist system, young girls and boys are abused for sexual gratification. It is no wonder then that women cannot feel safe even in our capital city.

When the Indian ruling classes claim that they are at the head of a modern society, they are talking of a very limited sphere of techno-industrial development, the financial markets and commercial operations that enable them to maximize their returns on investment. They are not concerned with the well-being and dignity of human beings; they are least concerned about the status of women.

A society that allows such assaults on women and keeps her enslaved cannot offer any dignity for men either. How far a society has advanced depends very much on how emancipated women are. If society cannot guarantee the safety and dignity of women, and in fact condones and perpetuates violence against them, then this society must be fundamentally transformed!  Together, all of us who are outraged by the growing incidence of violence against women must work for a new system where the human rights of all are guaranteed, and even one such incident will not be tolerated. Women have to be in the forefront of this struggle, because the emancipation of women depends upon the emancipation of society as a whole. This is the vision that we have to fight for – a society where women and men are respected equally and all human beings can live with dignity.

Letter from a comrade of Portugal

I wish to send greetings to all comrades around the world on this International Women's day! The Comintern (SH) is the only organization which truly struggles in favor of women's emancipation, because Stalinism-Hoxhaism is the only authentically revolutionary and proletarian ideology which is able to liberate women from the millenarian chains with which the exploiting classes have opressed them throughout history.
In what respects to the fake "feminist movements", they are nothing more than scapegoats fabricated by the reactionary bourgeosie to mislead women, trying to give them the false impression that the epoch of male domination has gone and that under capitalism they are "free". This is totally false. Proletarian women continue to be harshly opressed and discriminated, the wage differentials between working men and working women continue to be enormous. In some cases, they are even greater that they had been decades ago. Therefore, capitalism will never liberate women because their discrimination and inferiorization maximizes the profits of the bourgeosie. The only way to the liberation of women is the world socialist revolution and the world proletarian dictatorship! Everything else is reactionary, anti-communist and serves only to keep working women in bondage.

Other of the tactics used by the exploiting classes is to praise a few bourgeois and reactionary women. This happens in the economic and political field, where pro-capitalist women are used as "ideological models" that all other women should follow. However, all these treacherous tactics will fail. It is to us, Communist women, that the future belongs.

Greeting Message of the Comintern (SH)

On occasion of the 101st International Women's Day, the Comintern (SH) sends world revolutionary greetings to all revolutionary women all over the world and to all those people who support their liberation struggle.

The Comintern (SH) struggles for the following 5 fundamental aims:

1.

In all its social, political, economic and cultural position, Men and Women are globally equal.
Any discrimination or privilege of gender is contrary to the equality of Men and Women

2.

Equal pay for equal work - all over the world - without exception.
Any discrimination or any privilege of gender in the workplace, no matter in sections of production or service-sectors etc., … in the whole economic life of society - the principle of equality between Men and Women is valid and applies mutatis mutandis.

3.

The global economic subjugation of wage-labor of women by the world capital – this is the main cause of most forms of social misery, physical and mental exploitation and political oppression of the working women, around the world. The economic emancipation of working women is therefore essential basis of the political movement of working women 's liberation. Without the abolition of private ownership of the means of production – there is no abolition of wage-slavery of women, and without abolition of wage-slavery there is no social and political liberation of the female world-proletariat.

4.

The gendered slavery, the contradiction and competition between “him” and “her”, especially the division of women and men in the world labor market, must be fought and overcome – finally through the removal of the inevitability of the contradiction between global wage-labour and capital .

“He” and “She” belong to the same proletarian class, and together they form the army of the world proletariat against the world bourgeoisie. We fight, therefore, for the proletarian unity of women and men , for their mutual solidarity and support in their commonly organized class-struggle against the capitalists. The victory of the proletariat is based on the unity of proletarian women and men. Neither the proletarian women nor the proletarian men are capable to abolish capitalist wage slavery and gendered slavery on their own initiative. The matter of communism is a common matter of both, women and men.

5.

The division of the world proletariat by the capitalist countries, the division of the proletarian women and the proletarian men by national barriers, by national chauvinism, racism, etc. must also be fought and overcome on the one hand and such as the misogynistic world-imperialistic cosmopolitanism on the other hand.

The C W I (SH) must turn its attention to the women of the working emigrants because they are at most underprivileged in relation to the male emigrants and moreover to the local proletarian workers. In the spirit of proletarian internationalism, the emigrant proletarians and the local proletariat must unite and organize themselves commonly to fight and overcome their division.
For the equality of women-emigrants !

The emancipation of women is neither a local nor a national problem but an international social problem and therefore, this problem can be solved only by the world socialist revolution !

We fight for the collection, education and organization of the female world proletariat under the red banner of the world socialist revolution!

Comrade Enver Hoxha:

"The Party and the working dass should measure the advance toward the complete construction of socialist society with the deepening and progress of the
women's revolution within our proletarian revolution. If the women lag behind, then the revolution marks time."

Dear comrades,

the Communist Women 's - International cannot grow as a powerful mass-organisation within a sole year. We have to make great efforts for the successful implementation of this task. However, in the first year of its existence, we made progress in propagating the necessity of the Communist Women's International for the pupose to centralize the global actions of communist women.

The emancipation of the working class must be the act of the workers themselves“

Communist International - July 8, 1921

There is no emancipation of the working class without the emancipation of the working women.

The only path of the emancipation of women is the participation at the proletarian socialist world revolution !"

C W I (S H)

Founding declaration

8 March 2011

Today we celebrate the 100th International Women 's Day together with our foundation !

Proletarian, internationalist militant greetings to all exploited and oppressed women of this world!

The emancipation of women can only be the collective work of the united women of the world!

World-proletarian women - unite women of all countries for the socialist world revolution!

On the International Women 's Day the proletarian women all over the world raise their collective voice against their exploitation and oppression!
On this particular 100th World Women 's Day the proletarian women begin to organize their world-revolutionary global fight for the overthrow of world capitalism with the goal of world communism, and thus the final liberation of women.
The common world-revolutionary organization of proletarian women of all countries is the
COMMUNIST WOMEN'S INTERNATIONAL (SH)

On 27 August, 1910 - headed by Clara Zetkin and through her initiative - the Second International Conference of Women in Copenhagen declares World Women 's Day on the 8th March, annually - in memory of the brave proletarian women of an New York cotton factory, who were murdered by the police on 8 March 1908 - during their strike for equal pay and for the 10-hour day.

1917/18, the international socialist women welcome enthusiastically the October Revolution of the Bolsheviks and join Lenin. Not until communist guiding principles and objectives, not until creating a firmly established, Bolshevik-organized unit, the socialist women 's movement could be transformed into the communist women 's world movement - at the initiative of Comrade Lenin. So far the world socialist women 's movement could not organize itself under conditions of the loose structure of the Second International. Under pressure from the socialist women the opportunist leaders of the Second International were forced to support the organized internationalist struggle for the liberation of women. While the leaders of the Second International - with their "homeland-defense" - openly went over to the camp of the bourgeoisie in 1914, the women of the Second International called vehemently for the revolutionary struggle against the imperialist war. On occasion of the Third International Conference on Women - held in Berlin- the Socialist women organized an international anti-war meeting of the women, and they adopted a resolution against the imperialist war. The poster – shown above – is made in 1914 for the purpose of the international anti-war-meeting in Berlin. It expresses and symbolizes not only the struggle of the socialist women against imperialist war.

The socialist women have also fought on the front line against the betrayal of socialism, against opportunism and revisionism. For us Stalinist-Hoxhaist women it is a great honor and commitment, to raise the banner of the World Women 's Day as members of the Communist Women 's International (Stalinist-Hoxhaists) and transform the poster of 1914 as our emblem of the C W I (SH).

(See Minutes from March 2 to March 19, 1919, Hamburg 1921).

The Communist Women 's International (Stalinist-Hoxhaists) is in the tradition of the glorious Communist International of Lenin and Stalin and in its revolutionary struggle to organize the liberation of women - on a global scale.

On 8 July 1921 the Comintern unanimously adopted the "Resolution on the forms and methods of communist work among the women."

 It states:

The Second International Conference of Communist women taking place in Moscow therefore calls upon the Communist Parties everywhere to carry out the resolution and the decision of the III International, take seriously the organisation of the broad masses of working women for revolutionary struggle and revolutionary construction, engage in propaganda and agitation among the female proletariat to spread Communist ideas, and draw these women into the Communist Party, thereby deepening and developing their will and ability to be active and to fight.”

…..

Every Party in the III International must organise sections attached to their Party Committees, sections for work amongst women, which must be headed by a Committee member. Departments for work among women are not special organisations within the Communist Parties; their role is specific – to mobilise and educate the broadest masses of working women to struggle for the dictatorship of the proletariat and for a Communist society. The departments for work among women carry out all their work under the leadership of the Party, but their forms and methods of work have to be sufficiently flexible to adapt themselves to the specificities of the position of women in the family and in society. The work of these departments is described in detail in the theses passed by the conference.

The departments for work among women must always be conscious of their dual task which is:

1 to inspire in the female proletarian masses a high level of class consciousness and a firm commitment to engage in the revolutionary class struggle, the struggle of all humiliated and oppressed people against the bourgeoisie, and the struggle for communism;

2 after the victory of the proletarian revolution, to involve them in a conscious and dedicated way in the joint work needed to build a Communist society.

Departments for work among women must remember that their job involves more than just verbal and written agitation and propaganda. Their main concern is to carry out agitation through action – the most effective method at their disposal – and, in all the capitalist countries, to encourage working women to take an active part in all the actions and struggles of the revolutionary proletariat, in strikes, street demonstrations and armed uprisings, while in Soviet countries they must give working women an active part to play in all spheres of Communist construction.”

The C W I (SH) is not a "Communist International of the Women", which is opposed to the Comintern (SH) as the "Communist International of the Men".
The C W I (SH) is no special organization which would separate women from the world proletariat. In the contrary, it is an organization which helps women to join the revolutionary struggle as a strong detachment of the gigantic army of the international proletariat. The Comintern (SH) facilitates the self-organization of the communist women in the world and support them in the same way as the Communist parties in the individual countries support their own women 's sections.

The C W I (SH) is therefore an integral detachment and self-organized part of the Comintern (SH).

In words and deeds the C W I (SH) participates leading work of the Comintern (SH), directly and immediately ( see: Clara Zetkin – the leader of the communist women – was elected member of the leading ECCI).

The C W I (SH) cooperates with the women 's sections of the Communist parties of individual countries.

Furthermore, the C W I (SH) instructs all mass organizations concerning all matters of the women, as – for example – within the Red International of the Labour Unions

On this solid, organizational and global basis, women all over the world unfold their consciousness of proletarian internationalism and to create their full force in support of the socialist world revolution and thus for the purpose of their own liberation.

The C W I (SH) will meet its duties under the dictatorship of the world-proletariat and make a valuable contribution to the development of world socialism.

The C W I (SH) has played its role only when the goal of a classless world society is achieved, only then the woman is truly and finally liberated.

The 5 key-principles of the C W I (SH)  concerning
global gender equality, are:

1.

In all its social, political, economic and cultural position, Men and Women are globally equal.
Any discrimination or privilege of gender is contrary to the equality of Men and Women.

The emancipation of women is neither a local nor a national problem but an international social problem and therefore, this problem can be solved only by the world socialist revolution:

Workers of the world - unite

 World-proletariat - unite all countries !

These two slogans of the Comintern (SH) belong together and they are also valid in the global struggle for the liberation of women.

The exploitation and oppression of men and women through men and women can be finally abolished not before the era of world communism. The full equality between men and women can be reached only in world communism.

Just as the equivalence of physical and intellectual labor, between city and country, etc., the equality of men and women is still not fully realizable in the period of world socialism.
But the world socialism is the necessary transition-period of the liberation struggle of women from oppression and exploitation, in the period of the transition of the capitalist class society to a classless society of world communism.

The struggle for the emancipation of women - as opposed to bourgeois and petty-bourgeois "feminist movement" - is inseparable part of the world proletarian movement. Proletarian class struggle and fight for the liberation of women are inextricably linked in the struggle for the socialist world revolution, in national liberation struggles, in anti-imperialist struggles, or even in daily struggles for better living-conditions, in all forms of class-struggle – the struggle for the liberation of the women is always indispensable part of it.
The path of reformism is a bourgeois illusion. Only by violent revolution, the “women 's question” is solved. The solution of women 's question is part of the solution of the whole social question, is subordinated and serving the socialist world-revolution. The question of reforms is subordinated under the question of revolution.
The world-revolutionary women 's movement develops its own charactaristic forms of class-struggle and it is an indispensable lever for the overthrow of world capitalism, for the victory of the socialist world revolution and the establishment of the dictatorship of the world proletariat.
The victory of the world-proletarian revolution is only possible on an equal footing female leadership of the world-proletariat.
In the era of world socialism the proletarian men and women share commonly their role of their world 's class-hegemony.

The world-hegemony of the proletariat is based on the unity and solidarity, on the equal rights and duties of proletarian men and women.
The world-dictatorship of the proletariat is established, consolidated and defended by both the proletarian women and men.

The women of the Paris Commune of 1871, the women of the October Revolution of 1917 in Russia, the socialist women of the Soviet Union and Albania, they have all made the greatest sacrifices and contribution to the liberation of women in the world. They have realized world-historical achievements of their equality with men by means of the dictatorship of the proletariat.

On this solid ground the world-proletarian will achieve equality with men by means of the world-dictatorship of the proletariat – on a global scale.

We base our world-Bolshevist work on the experience of socialist countries in which there was the dictatorship of the proletariat, on the experience of the Soviet Union of Lenin and Stalin and the experience of socialist Albania's Enver Hoxha. There, the equality of men and women was not only well established in the Constitution. There were practically achieved all the facilities and measures for the free development of women in all fields, there was a secured and comprehensive social welfare for mother and child.

Through the restoration of capitalism the great achievements of the socialist women were destroyed, but they can never be eternized. The Stalinist-Hoxhaist women shall always care about the propagation of these historical achievements of the liberated socialist women and their heroic role in the history of socialism in their country. With the era of world-socialism we shall raise higher and higher the banner of women 's achievements in the best interest of the world 's society.

It is necessary to combat revisionism and neo-revisionism and all its hues and shades.

We struggle against bourgeois and petty-bourgeois women 's politics – even in the bourgeois and petty-bourgeois women 's organizations as Lenin told us . We struggle against reformist, revisionist, anarchist, syndicalist, Trotzkyite, Maoist and all kinds of alleged „communists“ who like to throw us Communist women off the course of the socialist world revolution. However, this does not mean to be sectarian. Bearing in mind the 12 Stalinist rules of Bolshevization we do not deny action-unities with class-foreign elements, if this will be beneficial for our aims and goals.

Basis of the world revolutionary gender politics of the C W I (SH) are the teachings of the 5 Classics of Marxism-Leninism.

We fight for the collection, education and organization of the female world proletariat under the red banner of the world socialist revolution!

LONG LIVE THE

COMMUNIST WOMEN 'S - INTERNATIONAL
(Stalinist-Hoxhaists)

2010

Long Live 8th March, the International Women’s Day!

We, the men and women of Iran, are ready for the final battle!”

Thousands of greetings and salutations to the struggling and freedom-seeking women of Iran who are fighting the anti-woman Islamic Regime in order to materialise the above slogan.

This year, the heroic women of Iran, welcoming their International Day at a time, when the whole world has been witness to their gallant confrontation with the lackeys of the Imperialist dependent Islamic Republic of Iran. This is a brilliant reality, as the proof of all the struggles and resistance of the majority of the oppressed women in our society against the oppressions and brutality of the regime, following 30 years of non-stop battles against the regime.

It has been said, and truly so, that the oppression of women is the oppression of the society. During the past 30 year rule of the Islamic Republic, our people have experienced this fact in reality. They have clearly seen that, whenever the rulers want to cause fear and terror amongst the people and increase the tempo of suppression, in the first step, they increase the tempo of suppression of women. Therefore, it is no surprise that women from all walks life, from the young students to the ordinary housewives, are fighting selflessly and valiantly in the forefront of all others to put an end to the Islamic Republic. The courageous struggle of these women for the overthrow of this notorious and criminal regime has also defeated the attempts of those reformers who try to limit their struggle to repealing or amending the reactionary Islamic laws against women. Following this path, the women reformers who benefit from saving the Islamic Republic Regime, even disregard one of the most important demands of the Iranian women: right to wear what they want.

The reality in Iran is such that the anti-woman laws of the Islamic Republic is interweaved with the existence and survival of the regime, and therefore the women in Iran cannot get rid of such reactionary and ancient rules under the “Green” Flag, meaning without the overthrow of the regime, as it is preached by the reformers of the regime today.

The anti-woman regime of Iran and in general oppression of women is in the interest of the capitalists. And, the Islamic Republic with religious ideology and seeking Islam is in fact is exacerbating the exploiting condition of women workers and by doing so, exacerbating the exploitation of the whole working class, even further for the bourgeoisie benefits. This point, of course in greater details, has been explained by me a few years ago in an article titled: “The prevalence of anti-woman culture in the service of exploiting the workers evermore”. Here, referring to the above fact, it is only stressed that why the anti-woman laws of the Islamic Republic along with the anti-woman regime itself can only be overthrown to the trash bin of history by the revolutionary women and men adapting revolutionary path. And why the totality of the Islamic Republic, along with all its factions and wings, must be destroyed by the power of people, i.e. by the heroic power of the conscious women and men, to facilitate the foundation of progressive laws in favour of women, and in general enabling the liberation of women.

If we accept that the best measure to gauge freedom in a society is the level of freedom of women, therefore, once the Islamic Republic Regime is overthrown, one of the most important proofs of any regime that claims to be caring and democratic, shall be that in its first steps, not only recognises the equality of women and men in all spheres of economy, sociology and politics, but also declares and proves in deed that the state has no right in delving in to the private life of the citizens: from how women wear their clothes to their beliefs and credence. The more the hands of state is off the privacy and private affairs of the citizens, the more a civic society expands, and this is in itself a measure of how democratic the society has become. At the same time, religion should be considered as a private matter for the citizens, and a democratic government must not allow it to play any role in the public life, and with emphasise even more, that it should have no role in the social life of women.

Freedom of the society is dependent on the freedom of women, and for us, the overthrow of the Islamic Republic of Iran with all its factions and wings, is the first step towards freedom. Let us strive to do all we can in this path, and this is how we should celebrate the International Women’s Day.

... that perpetuates the conditions of women’s inequality through the absolute limits it imposes on the socialisation of domestic work.

It is clear therefore that the struggle for women’s emancipation directly involves a struggle against capital itself. It is the existence of privatised, individual toil in the home together with the inferior position that women occupy in social production that forms the material basis of women’s oppression under capitalism. This will only be eroded in a society where planned production can ensure that there is no separation between the production of wealth in general and the reproduction of the human race. Therefore, there is no separation between the interests of women and the independent interests of the working class as a whole. Both interests can only be defended by overthrowing capitalism. This is the only standpoint from which a revolutionary perspective for the defence of women’s interests can be developed.

The position of women today is just as much dependent on the needs of capital accumulation as at the beginning of this century. The increased employment of women, the growth of state services, the increased consumption of labour-saving goods, have only resulted from a higher level of capital accumulation. However, the absolute position of women has not changed. In spite of the post-war boom even the basic preconditions for women’s true social equality, such as childcare facilities, have not been established. Capital thus continues to benefit from the oppression of women in the following ways:

1. The essential tasks of childbearing and childrearing are performed gratis.

2. A section of the workforce lies outside production and can be called upon, according to capital’s needs, to augment the industrial reserve army.

3. Women are a source of cheap labour.

4. Divisions are created among the working class.

Once again as capitalism goes into crisis, cuts in health and education, unemployment, the denial of equal pay, demonstrate even more clearly that the source of women’s oppression is not lack of rights but the existence of capitalist relations of production.

The question of women’s oppression is a central one for the working class. Women’s domestic slavery in the home is essential in reproducing the social relations of capitalism. The role that women are forced to play in the crisis, working harder in the home to offset inflation and unemployment, being sacked and re-employed more easily, working harder and for less pay than men, will aid capital in its attempt to solve its crisis at the expense of the working class. The divisions between men and women workers will not be overcome unless women’s interests are taken up centrally by the working class. On this question there is no choice for the movement. The response of women to their oppression in the past has played a crucial role in the revolutionary movement. Similarly today, the struggles such as those for equal pay, nurseries and abortion are essential to the revolutionary struggle of the working class as a whole.

Shabanova:

Comrades,

Comrade Nadzhiya, said: The women’s movement beginning in the East must not be looked at from the standpoint of those frivolous feminists who are content to see woman’s place in social life as that of a delicate plant or an elegant doll. This movement must be seen as a serious and necessary consequence of the revolutionary movement which is taking place throughout the world. The women of the East are not merely fighting for the right to walk in the street without wearing the chadra, as many people suppose. For the women of the East, with their high moral ideals, the question of the chadra, it can be said, is of the least importance. If the women who form half of every community are opposed to the men and do not have the same rights as they have, then it is obviously impossible for society to progress: the backwardness of Eastern societies is irrefutable proof of this.

Comrades, you can be sure that all our efforts and labours to realize new forms of social life, however sincere and however vigorous our endeavours may be, will remain without result if you do not summon the women to become real helpers in your work.

Owing to the conditions caused by the war, in Turkey women have been obliged to quit the home and the household and take on the performance of a variety of social duties. The fact that women have had to take over the responsibilities of the men who have been called up for military service, and especially the fact that women in the roadless localities of Anatolia which are inaccessible even to pack-animals have been themselves dragging artillery equipment and munitions to where the troops need them cannot, of course, be called a step forward in the conquest of equal rights for women: people who see the fact that women are making up with their labour for the shortage of beasts of burden as contributing to the cause of equal rights for women are unworthy of our attention. We do not deny that at the beginning of the 1908 revolution some measures were introduced for women’s benefit. In view, however, of the ineffectiveness and inadequacy of these measures we do not regard them as highly significant.

The opening of one or two lower and higher schools for women in the capital and in the provinces, and even the opening of a university for women, does not accomplish one thousandth part of what still needs to be done. From the Turkish Government, whose actions are based on the oppression and exploitation of the weaker by the stronger, one cannot, of course, expect more fundamental or serious measures on behalf of women held in bondage.

But we know, too, that the position of our sisters in Persia, Bukhara, Khiva, Turkestan, India and other Moslem countries is even worse. However, the injustice done to us and to our sisters has not remained unpunished. Proof of this is to be. seen in the backwardness and decline of all the countries of the East. Comrades, you must know that the evil done to women has never passed and will never pass without retribution.

Because the session of the Congress of the Peoples of the East is drawing to its close we are obliged through lack of time to refrain from discussing the position of women in the various countries of the East. But let the comrade delegates who are entrusted with the great mission of taking back to their homelands the great principles of the revolution not forget that all the efforts they devote to winning happiness for the peoples will remain fruitless unless there is real help from the women. The Communists consider it necessary, in order to get rid of all misfortunes, to create a classless society, and to this end they declare relentless war against all the bourgeois and privileged elements. The women Communists of the East have an even harder battle to wage because, in addition, they have to fight against the despotism of their menfolk. If you, men of the East, continue now, as in the past, to be indifferent to the fate of women, you can be sure that our countries will perish, and you and us together with them: the alternative is for us to begin, together with all the oppressed, a bloody life-and-death struggle to win our rights by force. I win briefly set forth the women’s demands. If you want to bring about your own emancipation, listen to our demands and render us real help and co-operation.

1) Complete equality of rights.

2) Ensuring for women unconditional opportunity to make use of the educational and vocational-training institutions established for men.

3) Equality of rights of both parties to marriage. Unconditional abolition of polygamy.

4) Unconditional admission of women to employment in legislative and administrative institutions.

5) Everywhere, in cities, towns and villages, committees for the rights and protection of women to be established.

Undoubtedly we can ask for all of this. The Communists, recognising that we have equal rights, have reached out their hand to us, and we women will prove their most loyal comrades. True, we may be stumbling in pathless darkness, we may be standing on the brink of yawning chasms, but we are not afraid, because we know that in order to see the dawn one has to pass through the dark night.

Clara Zetkin

Clara Zetkin was celebrated in both Germany and the Soviet Union before World War II because of her active involvement in the communist movement. She wrote prolifically and preached the virtues of socialism. She concerned herself particularly with women’s needs, arguing that women would respond best to a different form of agitation than that used among men. Zetkin asserted that communism was the only way to respond to women’s concerns as mothers and that only state involvement in domestic life would allow women to be fully emancipated. Women needed freedom from household work and increased training and support to aid them as workers, and Zetkin’s writings centered on these principles.

The Bolshevik Revolution proved to Zetkin that communism rescued women from the oppression of capitalism. The Soviet model showed that women could find protection for themselves and their children through state intervention. In addition, communism provided a female proletariat with increased employment opportunities and training. While bourgeois women’s movements spread through Europe, Zetkin emphasized that true liberation came only through communism. For Zetkin, communism as found in Soviet Russia in the 1920s brought women equality not just in theory but also in practice.

Zetkin’s periodical Die Kommunistische Fraueninternationale (1921-1925) included articles that emphasized the Soviet system for aiding women. These articles supported Zetkin’s belief that communism would benefit women by lightening their burdens. Die Kommunistische Fraueninternationale established a forum in which communist women throughout the world could hear news from movements in countries other than their own. By including discussion of the Soviet model in her periodical, Zetkin sought to convince women of the virtues of joining Soviet Russia in worldwide revolution rather than succumbing to the empty promises of capitalist nations.

Women of the World Fight for Democracy Against Warmongers

N. Popova

Vice-Chairman, World Federation of Democratic Women
Chairman, Anti-Fascist Committee of Soviet Women

This year all working women will celebrate International Women’s Day, March 8, in conditions of intense struggle for peace and against imperialist aggression. On this day, millions of women will express their firm determination to strengthen international solidarity, to unite more closely in the ranks of the democratic camp headed by the land of Socialism – the Soviet Union – and to intensify the struggle for peace and world security.

The women of the Soviet Union, active builders of Communism, are marching at the head of the powerful democratic movement of the women of the world. The Communist Party and Soviet power have given Soviet women complete political and economic equality, the opportunity of fully developing their abilities and creative forces. Educated by the Party of Lenin and Stalin, the Soviet woman has become a mighty force in building Soviet society.

In Soviet industry, thousands of women are factory managers, foremen and deputy foremen. There are 250,000 women in the vast army of technicians. Thousands of women are in charge of collective farms, and thousands more are brigade leaders. Hundreds of women have been honoured with the title of Hero of Socialist Labour for their high labour productivity.

Our women take full advantage of the right to education guaranteed them by the Stalin Constitution. This can be seen from the fact that of those technicians with a university education, 43 per cent are women. The 277 women deputies to the Supreme Soviets of the Union and Autonomous Republics are a living proof of the full political equality enjoyed by the Soviet woman and her active participation in the administration of the State.

The women of our socialist society are, together with the whole Soviet people, waging an active and consistent struggle to consolidate the democratic camp and repulse the imperialist warmongers. Fighting with them are the women of the new democracies – Czechoslovakia, Bulgaria, Hungary, Poland, Rumania and Albania where the people’s democratic system has assured them economic, political and civil rights equal with men.

Millions of women in the capitalist and colonial countries have joined the struggle for peace and democracy. Their position is very different from that of women in the Soviet Union and the new democracies. To this day, the vaunted bourgeois “democracy” of the capitalist countries still deprives women of equality. In many countries women do not even enjoy the right to vote. Women workers in the United States and Britain do not receive equal pay for equal work; and for most of them education is extremely restricted.

The position of the woman worker and the mother in the colonial countries is far worse: of the 500 million children in the colonies 480 million do not attend school. In the countries of Latin America, from 50 to 80 per cent of school-age children do not get an elementary education. In the U.S., 5 million children do not attend school. Working women in the capitalist countries know all the horrors of capitalist slavery. They are rising up in struggle for their liberation, uniting their efforts with those of all the democratic forces.

The activity and growth of the World Federation of Democratic Women demonstrate the development of the international women’s movement. During the past three years the national organizations of 16 countries have joined the Federation which today unites the women’s organizations of 56 countries, including 26 countries in Europe, 12 in Asia, 6 in Africa and 12 in America and Australia. The Federation has more than 80 million members. The working women greet March 8 with major successes in the struggle for peace and democracy.

The aggressive plans of Anglo-American ruling circles expressing the interests of American finance and industrial magnates who are trying to hurl mankind into a new world war, have aroused the indignation and opposition of millions of women throughout the world.

Naturally, in those circumstances the World Federation of Democratic Women centres its activity around the struggle for peace, drawing into this struggle millions of women who are not yet members of the Federation. In this a big role was played by the recent Second Congress of the Federation, a major event in the life and work of the democratic camp. The Congress was a powerful demonstration of the growth and organisation of the democratic women's movement.

The mass campaign for peace and democracy and against the aggressors and warmongers, the actions in support of the Soviet proposals to the United Nations to outlaw the atom bomb and reduce armaments, the campaign against the Franco regime in Spain and the terror in Greece, have enhanced the prestige of the Federation in the eyes of the supporters of peaceful cooperation between nations.

There are many facts to indicate the growing activity of the national sections of the Federation in the struggle for peace. Last November, mass actions took place throughout France in support of the proposals made by the Soviet delegation at the opening session of the U.N. General Assembly. The Italian women’s organisation sent the U.N. a petition signed by 3 million women demanding peace. The women of Czechoslovakia collected 2,500,000 signatures in support of the Soviet proposals; the women of Bulgaria 2,110,000 signatures, the women of Germany 5,000,000 signatures. Signatures were collected also in Britain, Belgium, New Zealand and Holland.

The militant women of Greece are actively supported by Federation members who are sending regular supplies of medicine, food and clothing to Greek women and children. The Federation is vigorously exposing the crimes committed by the Anglo-American imperialists against democratic Greece and the people of China. The women’s organisations in France and Holland have held protest meetings and demonstrations against the brutal reprisals of the French and Dutch Governments against the freedom-loving peoples of Viet Nam and Indonesia.

With increasing determination women are also taking part in the working class movement for better conditions. In France where they organised assistance for the striking miners, they are now fighting together with all the working people for wage increases and lower prices. In Italy women are taking an active part in the trade union struggles.

In France, Britain, Italy, Austria and other countries, women are resolutely opposing the “Marshall Plan” which is bringing ruin and enslavement to their countries, destroying their industry, freedom and sovereignty and turning them into bases for new military ventures.

Together with the women of those countries against which Anglo-American aggression is directed, the women of the U.S. and Britain are defending the cause of peace and are against war.

At the recent congress of the Federation, delegates from various countries of Europe, Asia and America, from Republican Spain, Australia, Cuba, Korea and Iran gave facts illustrating the growing resistance of the peoples to the onslaught of the monopolies and the machinations of the warmongers.

They spoke with deep gratitude of the peace-loving policy of the Soviet Government, of the great Soviet Union which heads the progressive forces of the world, which consistently and steadily exposes the warmongers, upholds the cause of peace and is strengthening the relations between peoples and states.

Expressing the will of millions of democratic women, the representative of the Union of French Women, Jeanette Vermeerch told the Congress:

“We believe in the Soviet Union – the main force of peace – for we know that where the people are in power they do not want war. We also know from experience that if the Soviet Union is attacked, it fights like a lion until victory, inspiring all who battle for the common cause of the peoples.”

Concluding her speech Vermeerch unfurled the banner sent by the women of France to the Soviet Union, bearing the inscription: “French mothers will never give their sons for a war against the Soviet Union”.

The Congress enthusiastically greeted the words of E. Cotton, Chairman of the World Federation of Democratic Women expressing the love of millions of ordinary people for the great land of Socialism.

“The fact that the countries of Central Europe feel warmly for the Soviet Union is not the result of pressure from Moscow, as reactionaries would have the peoples of the world believe,” she said. “It is the result of deep gratitude to the country which gave the blood of millions of its people for the common victory over fascism. It is an expression of the gratitude of millions of men and women to a great people who brought about the Revolution of 1917, who initiated the struggle that would really give power to the people. Those countries which the Governments of Britain and France led to Munich, received their freedom from the Soviet Union – a country where the great dream of Socialism, living in the hearts of working men and women the world over, has become a reality.”

The Manifesto adopted by the Congress declares; “Women of all countries! We bear a great responsibility to our children, to our peoples, to mankind, to history. And if all of us – and we comprise half humanity – come forward with closed ranks against the instigators of war there will be no war!”

The Manifesto calls upon women in the capitalist countries to defend their democratic gains, for without democracy there can be no peace. It calls upon the women in the colonial and dependent countries to continue the struggle against imperialism and for the national independence of their countries.

On behalf of 56 countries, the delegates to the Second International Women’s Congress declared that the 80 million members of the Federation represented by them would “fight more resolutely and more actively for peace, democracy, for the security and independence of peoples, in defence of our children and our homes! Our forces are legion. By uniting our efforts we will win the battle for peace and democracy."

On March 8, millions of women throughout the world will express their will and determination to rally more closely in the united democratic camp to carry out the great and noble tasks inscribed on its banners.

Excerpt of the World-Communist Programme

concerning emancipation of women

11

We want to abolish completely the privileges and discrimination of gender .

We are for the emancipated development of the personality of every human being in the world, regardless of the gender.

Only the world communism creates the perfect social equality between men and women. The full satisfaction of gender-specific needs presupposes the full emancipation of women towards men. And without social emancipation of women is no development of harmonic social and economic relations possible.

The gender-related freedom presupposes the abolition of mutual economic dependency not only between man and woman, but also between the wife and the whole society.

"The real emancipation of women, real communism, will begin only where and when an all-out struggle begins (led by the proletariat wielding the state power) against this petty housekeeping, or rather when its wholesale transformation into a large-scale socialist economy begins." (Lenin, A Great Beginning, Collected Works, Volume 29, page 429).

Engels:

"What will be the influence of communist society on the family?

It will transform the relations between the sexes into a purely private matter which concerns only the persons involved and into which society has no occasion to intervene. It can do this since it does away with private property and educates children on a communal basis, and in this way removes the two bases of traditional marriage – the dependence rooted in private property, of the women on the man, and of the children on the parents.

And here is the answer to the outcry of the highly moral philistines against the “community of women”. Community of women is a condition which belongs entirely to bourgeois society and which today finds its complete expression in prostitution. But prostitution is based on private property and falls with it. Thus, communist society, instead of introducing community of women, in fact abolishes it." (Engels, Principles of Communism, Answer 21).

World communism can only be achieved through the full emancipation and equality of women. And conversely, the complete emancipation and equal rights for women can be realized only in world communism. In world communism, the exploitation and oppression of woman by man has been abolished forever.

World Communism does not invent the influence of society on gender and education. It only changes its character, namely the fact that the relationship between husband and wife and the education takes place in the classless society.

In a classless society, the unfolding of man and woman, of parents and children will be brought to a higher qualitative level, because the influence of the ruling classes on the relation between men and women and on education will be abolished forever. In world communism, no longer a state will be needed which must guard and enforce the rights of women. Both man and woman respect the opposite sex through voluntary and conscious adherence to the rules of living together.

Marx and Engels,

Communist Manifesto, 1848:

"Abolition of the family! Even the most radical flare up at this infamous proposal of the Communists . . . The bourgeois sees in his wife a mere instrument of production. He hears that the instruments of production are to be exploited in common, and, naturally, can come to no other conclusion than that the lot of being common to all will likewise fall to the women. He has not even a suspicion that the real point is to do away with the status of women as mere instruments of production."

Frederik Engels

Origins of the Family, Private Property and the State, 1884:

"With regard to the juridical equality of man and woman in marriage: the inequality of the two before the law, which is a legacy of previous social conditions, is not the cause but the effect of the economic oppression ofwomen . . . The necessity, as well as themanner, of establishing real social equality between the two will be brought out into full relief only when both are completely equal before the law."

Communist International, Resolution on the Role of Working Women.

March 6, 1919

The Congress of the Communist International recognizes that the realization of all the tasks it sets by itself, as well as the ultimate victory of the world proletariat and the complete abolishment of the capitalistic system, can be attained only by the closely united common effort of the men and women of the working class.

The enormously growing employment of female labor in all branches of economy, the fact that no less than half of all existing values are produced by women's' hand, the recognition of the important part proletarian women play in the construction of the new Communist social order, particularly in the transition to communistic domestic relations, in the reform of the family as an institution, and the realization of a socialistic education of children destined to produce able and common-spirited citizens for the Soviet Republics-all these considerations cause the following to be the urgent task of all parties adhering to the Communist International: to exert all their energy towards the winning of proletarian women for those parties, and towards the education of working women in the spirit of the new society and of communistic ethics in society and the family.

The dictatorship of the proletariat can be realized and kept up only through the active and energetic participation of the women of the working class.

J.V. Stalin pointed out that the “first task of the proletariat and its advanced detachment, the Communist Party, is to engage in decisive struggle for the freeing of women workers and peasants from the influence of the bourgeoisie, for political education and the organization of women workers and peasants beneath the banner of the proletariat.” He added that, “International Woman’s Day is a means of winning the women’s labor reserves to the side of the proletariat.”

Stalin pointed out that working women “are the greatest reserve of the working class. This reserve (ally–ed.)constitutes a good half of the population.” He added that, “the fate of the proletarian movement, the victory or defeat of proletarian power depends on whether or not the reserve of women will be for or against the working class.”

“A woman Communist,” said Lenin, “is a member of the party just as a man Communist, with equal rights and duties.” (Zetkin)

Tear the masks from the faces of these liars ... Ask them:
Equality between what sex and what other sex?
Between what nation and what other nation?
Between what class and what other class?
Freedom from what yoke, or from the yoke of what class? Freedom for what class?
Whoever speaks of politics, of democracy, of liberty, of equality, of socialism and does not at the same time ask these questions ... is a wolf in sheep’s clothing, is a bitter opponent of the workers and peasants, is a servant of the landlords, tsars, capitalists. (Women and Society)
